MATTHEW RYAN "BOXERS"

This record is a bruising and beautiful Rock n Roll record. It was produced by Kevin Salem and has Kevin Salem and Brian Fallon (of The Gaslight Anthem) playing electric guitar with me throughout. My best friend Brian Bequette is playing bass, and the amazing Joe Magistro is playing drums. More details and news very soon! Matthew Ryan releases his pure, honest and moving album Boxers today. Recorded last winter at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY with producer and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Salem, The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon on guitar, longtime collaborator Brian Bequette on bass, Joe Magistro (The Black Crowes, Rich Robinson) on drums, and of course, Ryan himself on vocals and guitars. “It was a beautiful brotherhood,” Ryan says of the recording process.The title track, “Boxers” immediately grabs you with its’ melody and the stellar production while “The First Heartbreak” tells a distressing story with upbeat musical backdrop. Boxers also tells tales of the working poor in “Suffer No More,” the callous culture of capitalists in “We Are Libertines,” and the two together in “Heaven’s Hill.”From the silvery burst of feedback that opens the record, to the dissolving vérité of the last notes of the final song, Ryan writes songs that make you think and delivers them with an emotion that makes you feel. MAMMAL HANDS "ANIMALIA"

Mammal Hands are a trio of like-minded musicians: Nick Smart piano, Jesse Barrett drums and percussion, and Jordan Smart saxophones. Drawing on influences from Steve Reich to Bonobo and Pharoah Sanders to The Cinematic Orchestra, alongside elements of North Indian and African music, they produce their own beautiful, inimitable music – at times wistful and melancholic and others raucous and catchy. They evoke a range of moods, from delicate and subtle to explosive and frantic, blending thoughtful compositions with spontaneity and interplay. On the road they have been wooing audiences from the Norwich Arts Centre to Mostly Jazz Festival Birmingham, King’s Place London, Band On The Wall Manchester and most recently Love Supreme Festival Glynde. Indeed it was at Mostly Jazz that the band were heard by Gondwana Records recording artists GoGo Penguin’s bassist Nick Blacka, who liking the band’s unique sound brought them to the attention of label boss Matthew Halsall, who immediately signed them to the label and has now produced their sublime debut album, Animalia, which is released on 15th September. Mammal Hands met in April 2012, while busking in Norwich. They gelled quickly, drawn to each other’s open approach to music making. The brothers Nick and Jordan were already playing together as an electronica duo but with drummer Jesse joining the band they developed a distinctive sound drawing on their love of electronic, contemporary classical, world and jazz music. Drummer Jesse’s knowledge and understanding of Indian Classical music brings a unique/distinctive approach to the rhythmic framework of the band’s tunes. His disciplined study with tabla maestro Sirishkumar has allowed him to develop the ability to explore intricate and complex rhythmic patterns and the freedom to explore time signatures and rhythmic patterns less commonly heard in the western world. Jordan brings a love of DJ culture as well as the influence of Pharoah Sanders to his playing whilst pianist Nick brings a knowledge of classical Jazz harmonies but also a deep interest in the minimalist composers (Terry Riley, Steve Reich) which has influenced his compositional approach, striving to create hypnotic, rhythmic patterns that can provide a foundation for Jordan and Jesse to build on. It is this unique combination of influences and their unusual baseless line-up that makes Mammal Hands’ sound so distinctive. MAMMAL HANDS
 

CHRISTOS ANESTOPOULOS "WISH YOU COULD STAY"

Christos Anestopoulos born in Patras,Greece in 1971.
He study classic guitar and he got diploma on the instrument.
He study electric guitar and he got lessons and clinics from many great jazz guitarist.He is a teacher of Guitar.He has compose music for dance and theater,movies and he release two albums with his music``swinging over the surfaces`` and ``wish you could stay``There’s no avoiding the influence of Bill Frisell on this recording. And considering that fellow-guitarist Anestopoulos names two separate tracks “Friselland” indicates he’s fully invested in Frisell’s sound as both musician and fan. As a huge Frisell fan, this album totally floated my boat. There are tracks that sound eminently like Frisell pieces. There are tracks that sound nothing like Frisell pieces, but the use of electronics and looping and effects, and a strangely ominous jazz-folk hybrid put it smack dab in the middle of Frisell territory. A couple tracks incorporate some elements of Anestopoulos’ native Greece, and nothing about that breaks the album’s cohesion. Kind of jazz, kind of folk, kind of rock, all of them but none… music with personality and dramatic expressionism. Not just for fans of Frisell. A series of guests contribute to this album, on a variety of wind instruments, strings, and percussion. Very cool. CHRISTOS ANESTOPOULOS

TWICE YOUNG "LITTLE MIND ALIKE"

Sembra che Tyler, un ragazzo molto terra-terra, abbia messo il cuore e l'anima nella scrittura di questo CD. Cantante e songwriter principale per la band emergente dei Twice Young, che comprende anche Zach Myers e Seth Lourdon di Waynesboro. Un CD molto emotivo, che copre cosa è accaduto nella sua giovane vita, da incontrare belle donne a poi perdere molti familiari. Cresciuto nll'ascolto dei Zeppelin e i Pink Floyd, che i suoi genitori inculcavano quand'era giovane, è stato poi influenzato da band come i Coldplay, e band della nostra generazione. Di sè dice:" Ho imparato da ascoltare assoli di band famose, e ho poi potuto replicare e mettere il mio tocco in esso. Ad ogni performance, sono molto nervoso, cosi nervoso che quasi arrivo al punto di vomitare. Ho trascorso otto mesi per scrivere "Little Mind Alike", io e il produttore abbiamo lavorato due o tre volte la settimana, ogni giorno appena seduti e scrivendo".

DIFFERENT MARKS "UNTITLED"

Different Marks è un progetto nato lo scorso anno dall’unione del duo polacco Catz N’ Dogz e dall’artista inglese Martin Dawson, purtroppo scomparso lo scorso 12 novembre. Album realizzato in collaborazione con lo stesso Martin Dawson e finito di registrarlo poco prima della sua tragica morte. Con Collaborazioni di Ben Westbeech, Paul Randolph e molti altri. Le canzoni incluse hanno lo stesso forte senso della melodia, che tutti e tre i membri  citati hanno molto dimostrato in passato. House, Ambient, Pop e Soul tutti mescolati in un album chiamato "Senza Titolo". Tarañczuk dice : Lavorare su questo progetto è cosi diventato veramente coinvolgente, perché stare insieme, in questo piccolo studio, significava avere tutto il mondo con noi.  DIFFERENT MARKS

Un gran meraviglioso esempio di lussureggiante lounge. Chris Ward stand-out di Southampton,  che crea attraverso i Tropics, onde sognanti del suono per la tarda notte, con prove ottime di campioni vocali. Sorprendenti quattro pezzi facili, interpretati dalla gran qualità della voce di Ward, avvolta in toni altrettanto impressionante di Gavin Turek. Traccie Melodiose di grande Romanticismo, una confusione di lussuria e amore, ballanti ritmi piene di pura suontosa  energia, umori e caldo entusiasmo inneggianti alla passione.

WINTERCOATS "HEARTFUL"

Wintercoats è il progetto del musicista e vocalist austrliano James Wallace. Il suo nuovo ep si intitola Heartful ed è in full streaming sulla pagina bandcamp della Yes Please Records. L’artista australiano, in questo nuovo lavoro, miscela trame ambientali con le strutture pop e venature folk.

HOUSES "A QUIET DARKNESS"

The Houses comprende solo due anime musicali, molto acuti e di certo assolutamente creativi, con sede nella città di Chicago. Una coppia sposata nella vita reale, l'unione duratura di Megan Messina e di Dexter Tortoriello, che hanno generato ciò che è la loro seconda prodezza sinfonica,"A Quiet Darkness", il successore del 2010 nel debutto acclamato dalla critica,"All Night". Una storia che ha un sapore di  Tenebre Tranquilla, che rappresenta non solo una festa sonora, ma una storia da seguire. Una storia di amore non corrisposto, che trova il suo svolgimento nel bel mezzo di un notevole disastro nucleare. E' l'album rappresenta il viaggio di un marito innamorato e la moglie disperata per riunirsi, ma tenuti separati dalla distruzione e caos. Ogni canzone dell'album rappresenta una casa abbandonata lungo la Highway 10 in California, dove gli amanti immaginari alla ricerca l'un per l'altro, sono tenuti separati da un abbraccio eterno di morte. Per catturare il buio, tetro romanticismo convogliato nella musica, ogni canzone è stata registrata sul posto, ogni suono composto per vivere il racconto immaginario degli amanti sfortunati. Iniziano con un breve pezzo strumentale, delicato, riflessivo, con una calma rivelatrice e appena sufficiente per irretire completamente. La pista inizia improvvisamente, con un rapido, breve e staccato pianoforte che corre, capitombola, e cade in qualcosa di più profondo, che a sua volta si espande in una più lenta, languida sinfonia.Questa anteprima incapsula il racconto di un album che inizia con il brano melodioso ma melanconico, 'Beginnings'. E' amorevole e ancora disperato, pieno di speranza e tuttavia senza speranza. E' un inno alla bellezza desolata del dolore universale di tutti gli innamorati.   HOUSES
