I Jazz Defenders sono un gruppo nato da un profondo amore per il Jazz, attingendo a una grande fonte di ispirazione per creare le proprie composizioni crude e vivaci. George Cooper è uno dei pianisti jazz più formidabili del Regno Unito, che a soli 31 anni ha già accumulato un repertorio completo di collaborazioni lavorative tra cui Hans Zimmer, Nigel Kennedy, U2.L'album di debutto di The Jazz Defenders è stato pubblicato su Haggis Records.Il jazz è sempre stato una parte enorme di ciò che riguarda gli Haggis Horns, quindi questo matrimonio è stato perfetto.La musica che producono insieme è una moderna inclinazione soul jazz su questo classico Hard Bop, incanalando senza sforzo lo spirito dell'era d'oro del Blue Note del Jazz.La formazione attuale è Nick Dover (sax tenore), Nick Malcolm (tromba), Ian Matthews (batteria), Will Harris (basso) e George Cooper (piano). Come musicisti di sessione a pieno titolo, i membri della band hanno lavorato con una varietà di artisti di fama internazionale come Andy Sheppard, Clark Tracey, Get The Blessing, Pee Wee Ellis, Massive Attack, Rodriguez e Nostalgia 77, oltre a suonare in luoghi tra cui Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz C. Thelonius is a five piece urban jazz band based in Bristol UK performing a mix of originals, classics from the golden age of hip-hop and some nasty jazz tunes.Imagine if Mr Monk and A Tribe Called Quest - with J Dilla in tow - all ended up in a small smokey jazz club in Prague.
