THE HOT SARDINES "LIVE AT JOE'S PUB"

Take a blustery brass lineup, layer it over a rhythm section led by a Fats Waller-style stride-piano virtuoso, and tie the whole thing together with a magnetic, one-of-the-boys frontwoman whose voice recalls another era, and you have the Hot Sardines, an NYC outfit (with a tap dancer) that’s been called “consistently electrifying live” (Popmatters). The Sardine sound – wartime Paris via New Orleans, or the other way around – is steeped in the kind of music Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and Waller used to make: Straight-up, foot-stomping jazz. Pianist-bandleader Evan “Bibs” Palazzo and Paris-born singer Miz Elizabeth (who owe their collaboration to meeting via Craigslist) describe their band as “born in the 1920s, but raised in the ’00s,” reflecting a philosophy that hot jazz, dixieland and Tin Pan Alley tunes are all pop music, not historical artifact to be handled with kid gloves. The Sardines started 2013 headlining the TCM Classic Cruise, kick off a bi-monthly residency at Joe’s Pub in April, are slated to play the Great GoogaMooga Festival, the Spiegeltent and the Blue Note Jazz festival, and continue to turn regular haunt The Standard Hotel into a “saloon in the sky” (The Wall Street Journal).THE HOT SARDINES

TUBA SKYNNY "OWL CALL BLUES"

Formed in in 2009, Tuba Skinny has steadily evolved from a loose collection of street musicians into a solid ensemble dedicated to bringing the traditional New Orleans sound to audiences around the world. Drawing on a wide range of musical influences—from spirituals to Depression-era blues, from ragtime to traditional jazz—their sound evokes the rich musical heritage of their New Orleans home. The band has gained a loyal following through their distinctive sound, their commitment to reviving long-lost songs, and their barnstorming live performances. We are happy to announce that our newest album "Owl Call Blues" is hot off the press and available to all. Recorded this past January at home in New Orleans, it has 15 previously unrecorded songs, and beautiful artwork by Shaye Cohn.  Hard copies are available here from The Louisiana Music Factory or at any of our shows. SOGGY PO' BOYS "PERHAPS IT IS TIME TO GO HOME"

The Soggy Po' Boys were born on Mardi Gras, 2012. Makes perfect sense given their name, and the fact that they’re a New Orleans flavored octet.Residing in Seacoast, New Hampshire, the Po’ Boys have been honing their craft every Tuesday night, first at the late Barley Pub, and now at Sonny’s Tavern – both in the band’s hometown of Dover. Much in the spirit of the great residency that exists at New Orleans’ own Spotted Cat Music Club where the legendary Vipers have thrown down on every Monday for the past god-knows-how-long, the Po’ Boys are steeped in tradition while in search of creating tradition all their own. With a repertoire of New Orleans standards, spirituals, contemporary music, and swing tunes, the Po’ Boys offer a lively blend of fun and insanity. Sure, it’s served messy, but at the heart of the mess is a sincerity for sprightly composed tunes that are accessible to absolutely anyone that hears it. New Orleans music is supposed to be messy. It’s supposed to be steeped in feeling. When you feel music, you find the real beauty behind what makes music so mesmerizingly addicting. That’s exactly what the Po’ Boys are producing. Their music is enduring. It’s infectious. It’s inviting. It’s irresistible. Don’t let their birthplace fool you. The beauty of New Orleans music is that it’s celebrated and appreciated everywhere. From the street corner, to the communing pub, to the theater. The Po’ Boys are doing their part to spread the tasteful soundtrack of the greatest music on the planet from their roost in the Northeast and while out on the road touring the country. NOVA SCOTIA JAZZ BAND "SHAKE IT AND BREAK IT"

NOVA SCOTIA JAZZ BAND

THE ORIGINAL RABBIT FOOT SPASM BAND "PARTY SEVEN"

THE ORIGINAL RABBIT FOOT SPASM BAND
