JACKIE VENSON "THE LIGHT IN ME"

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Venson further proves her endurance on her latest set, The Light In Me, which bursts with traditional blues aesthetics but upholds melodic soul for a rich blend that is tailor-fit for her spunky and witty style. As a fellow South Texan myself, she's pretty much kinfolk as she's knows that everything is in fact bigger here, and her sound reflects it in pounds as numbers such as the pew-stomping "Always Free," horn-peppered sway of "Best For Last" and her single "The Love I Give," are bold and infallible entries. And if it's subdued that you want, then Venson can whisper loving poetics this side of "Beauty Of Your Love" and the cushy acoustic title track to place you in the calm of her storm. Though there are many vibrant voices that come our way daily, a lot don't get to stand on a table and shout out loud, but Venson, on the other hand, has the boisterous attitude as well as the creative drive to create tunes her way without bending to any so-called rules, and those elements will spark and have her elbow her way to the front of the line without a misstep. ABBY SKYE "LIVE AT FRIDAYS"

Abby can seemingly sing any note & has mastery over every genre. Skye is a masterful songwriter, multi instrumentalist, accomplished sound engineer & producer.Solely producing her first EP she wrote, sang, played & recorded the tunes, in a studio she built herself. At 5yrs old Skye was bringing the house down at Parent Teacher Associ Xmas bash! From then on she was going to be a musician. She joined grade4 choir & learnt flute, guitar, piano & classical & contemporary voice as well as studying poetry. Took up lead voice; conductor of the school Concert Band & Madrigal Choir. She studied music passing every exam with high distinctions. As a member of the Australian Girls Choir she had performed with Symphony Orchestras at Melbourne Concert Hall many times – all by age 12! By 14 She’d formed a duo called ‘Hacking Daisies’ winning competitions & playing many festivals & live shows. By 15 she had started ‘solo’ shows, including performing for the President of Hungary! No wonder the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts beckoned & she easily gained acceptance, studying with highly respected Brian Hasford, Head of Opera. Her heart lay with performing originals & she went full time at 17.She learnt every aspect of production, engineering & recorded her EP ‘Addicted’. Artists such as Renee Geyer, James Reyne & Mental as Anything booked her as support Act. Now a well established & respected artist in QLD Destined for Bigger Thiings! ABBY SKYE

COTTON BELLY'S "THIS DAY"

Un album particolare, trovato come se si stesse navigando tra i vecchi blues e rock and roll degli anni settanta. Questi sono i Cotton Belly's, con il loro ultimo album "This Day​". Attraversando campi di cotone con buoi annessi, cantando un fresco e moderno Blues di periferia, del vecchio sud e un pò Parigino, come essi sono. Questi ragazzi fanno vibrare con il loro blues acustico, e a volte anche un pò elettrico. Atmosfere da vintage campagnole del folk e blues americano, tutte da ascoltare per portarci indietro nel tempo, per un buon vecchio blues, dal profondo delle sue radici. Ottimo disco per i sorprendenti Cotton Belly's, con il leader cantautore / musicista, nonchè produttore Stuart Matthewman. Lo stesso che negli anni ottanta incontrò la cantante Sade Adu e cominciarono a scrivere canzoni insieme. Infatti è apparso in tutti gli album di Sade. COTTON BELLY'S
